Job Description
Seeking a senior level business development director with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Media and Entertainment:
· Advertising/Marketing - Digital /Interactive/Mobile Agencies, Brands
· Entertainment Companies - Music Labels, TV Production, Film Studios
Internet and Application Providers:
· Mobile Applications Providers - Consumer, B2B,
· Consumer Internet Properties - Travel, Portal, Social, Shopping, Info
Enterprise and Financial Services:
· Financial Services - Banks, Insurance, Stock/Trade
· Enterprise (i.e. Business to Business) - Software, Services, Systems Integrators
The company’s objective is to become the vendor of choice for non-mobile companies to extend their presence to mobile devices via applications.
The company will need to expand their customer base in to new market segments while bringing in new meaningful revenue streams.
The Director will report to the Vice President of Enterprise Mobile and work closely with peers in the Solutions group to develop the go to market strategy.
Qualifications
The company requires a seasoned leader with recognized industry stature that has at least ten years of senior sales experience in the relevant market segment.
· With the VP, Mobile Applications, the Director will need to think and act strategically as the company is in rapid growth phase and will be required to work across internal teams and be called upon to represent the company at industry events.
· The successful Director will establish business relationships with organizations in the North American market initially, with potential expansion into global markets. This includes companies expanding their mobile presence and startup/new entrants in the mobile domain, and can ultimately lead to building a team focused on the vertical industry segment
· As this is a rapidly growing space in the market, this individual must have the intelligence and resourcefulness to pioneer the approach to companies expanding into mobile.
The primary responsibility of the Director will include:
· Prospecting, proposing and closing contracts with new customers
· Expanding existing accounts into high recurring revenue customers
· Building extensive pipeline and managing forecasting on an ongoing basis
· Daily account management of customer base
Required Experience:
· Existing network and understanding of the target segment customers – how they work internally, organization, decision makers etc.
· Prospecting – applying a structure to lead acquisition and sales/customer development
· Management experience
Preferred Experience:
· Experience selling services and major projects
· Start-up environment – understanding how to incubate a business and being comfortable working to clarify the direction
· Understanding of application development (preferably for mobile devices).

· Ideal candidates possess excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be a high-energy individual with strong personal presence and demeanor. This role needs to be equally strategic in approach to a new market, and tactical in promoting the company agenda in the market. Should be a team player and have a history of working well with an over-achieving management group.
· This person is by nature a risk-taker and has a high level of ambition. Equally importantly, this person must have unquestioned integrity.
· This individual must also be a strong marketing strategist, someone who believes in the importance of the product and marketing intelligence in the product life cycle.
· This individual should possess palpable leadership ability; deal naturally and effectively with senior executives in the target arena.
· Must be an exceptional interpersonal communicator able to understand and easily express the vision of a paradigm shifting technology.
Education:
The most appropriate educational background might include an undergraduate business or technical degree and an MBA from respected universities. However, proven success at developing successful major account relationships with industry leading companies is more important than any specific academic credentials.
